Goals/Purpose: Understand and Incorporate Skincare in your Plastic Surgery Practice

Methods/Technique: Building a Solid Plastic Surgical Practice that addresses all levels of patient care

By Providing proper skincare treatments and products in your practice you will be doing yourself and your patients a great service. You will be in control of what they are going home with, you will make profit on that sale but most of all you will be providing excellent patient care as we are now treating all aspects of the skin whether your patients need pre-surgical care or maintenance is what needs to be addressed. The key is achieving a successfull outcome and there are many ways of bundling and making sure patients are compliant and achieving desired results. Do not let your patients go to a department store.

The other aspect of having a successful skincare practice is also building a loyal patient popullation that will come to your office often and refer often. The more services we have to offer the better off we are. Skincare is not in any way shape or form going to replace plastic surgery but we want to compliment the services we offer providing our patients with the best outcome. And they may get to your practice because of a chemical peel or a facial and end up in your Operating Room. Building relationships, gaining your patients trust and providing excellent care can only be beneficial to you and your medical practice!

Understand how to properly make this work for you and your medical staff.

There are many ways in which we can incorporate this - For example every injectable patient should be going home with information on skin care and other services you offer. I also like to offer them a complimentary glycolic or any lunch time peel you offer. This way not only will they be getting a treatment, looking and feeling great, but also an opportunity to interact with the Aesthetician or the nurse who is providing this service. Next time they are booking treatments with the medical staff while you are operating or seeing new consults.

Every Facial surgical procedure send the patients home with a pre-conditioning skincare kit. You will be amazed at how this will improve their skin quality before surgery and also get your patients excited about having a procedure with you - Again building relationships, showing proper patient care.

Bundling of products and services - Chemical peel and Laser treatments post op care. You are in charge of their care. They dont have an option, the post care products that you believe in and trust are included with their treatment. AND they dont have to go the pharmacy to pick anything up neither do you need to worry about writing a prescription that wont get filled!

For all non-facial plastic surgery you can also incorporate bundling and make skincare work for you. You will be amazed at how often patients will come back to your practice and with referrals. Do NOT turn away a great opportunity. Todays facial could become tomorrows facelift! And you will be farther ahead of the competition because you are providing amazing patient care that others arent. And guess where the patients will be going?

Results/Complications: Successful and solid business plan - excellent patient outcomes and excellent patient care

Conclusion: By providing excellent patient care you will only make your practice and those with your excell. The Circle of care - Skincare and Plastic Surgery working hand in hand!
